Dear students,

I would like to express that we miss you all.

Due to the covid-19 pandemic that affected the world and our country, we conducted a part of the 2020 Spring Semester by distance learning methods, when we conducted the 2020 Summer Semester completely with distance education as you all know. During those days, we have experienced the challenges of distance education together in our practice-based courses, which are intensely involved in all departments of the Faculty of Architecture. However, I believe that we have developed creative methods in cooperation with you and our faculty members.

In line with the 2020-2021 Fall Semester Planning Principles announced by the Rectorate on 13.09.2020, the decisions of our Faculty are given as below. The decisions cover all departments of the Faculty and our main goal is to provide the safest and most suitable environment for you.

- Considering the number of students in our faculty and the intensive involvement of teachings (drawing, modeling, group work etc.) that require close contact with you in practice-based courses, it is predicted that face-to-face education will be risky in the context of pandemic conditions. For this reason, all of our courses will be conducted online with synchronous / live broadcasts.

- However, our university will be open, we will be at campus for our students who attend online courses but need various academic or technical support and want to come to the university. Each department will extend the office hours of their academicians and will announce it to students of the department. The students who need support will be able to make an appointment by contacting the relevant academician and receive the academic support they need.

- Your health is our priority, and we would like to state that we are working on alternative methods with all our departments in order to use distance education methods in the most effective way to protect our education quality.

The considerations above may vary with possible decisions that can be notified by Council of Higher Education (YÖK) or Rectorate of Yeditepe University, depending on the course of the pandemic in our country. In such a case, we will inform you again as soon as possible.
