Course Objectives:
The initial aim of this course is to give the skills to analyze the project area within its surrounding site by using sketching, photographing and surveying techniques. The course aims to give the ability of designing a project focusing on the examination function-space relations and creating details for interiors. The skills for three-dimensional perception and designing and the ability to use the different presentation techniques are also the other goals of this course. As a result of this study the students are expected to have gained the skills to create projects with artistic style and original architectural identity and to be able to present the project with an authentic approach.
Course Content:

It is requested to design a retail store in a total area of about 180-  200 m2. According to the height of the given project it is expected to   design a mezzanine floor. Students can design new interiors without   damaging the structural features, the materials, the textures, and the   openings of the existing facade. The walls and floors can be reduced or added. The façade openings can only be closed from the inside of   the building; a cavitated or a solid new outer shell can be designed on

the exterior surface; temporary or permanent facade extensions can

be designed. The given survey drawings are not the original ones. The

drawings were reorganized for the students’ studies.

Course Methodology:
1: Lecture, 2: Question and Answer, 3: Discussion, 4:Drill and Practice, 11: Observation, 15: Project Design/Management
Course Evaluation Methods:
A: Testing, C: Homework, D: Project Development
